Landscaping

January 19, 2009

Just add H2O is going to be doing the landscaping this week and next along with the sprinkler system. Laurie and I talked a 2 companies and picked this one based on the detail of the planting beds, descriptions and the actual layout on paper.

Sprinkler system water will be supplied by the 2000 total capacity tanks from the Geothermal water waste which is untreated well water. Plants and grass will love it.

A dedicated submersible pump will be dropped into one of the tanks and powered when the sprinkler controller calls for water.

A concern was that during the heat of summer with all the zones being watered that the tanks would dry up with a full cycle watering of all zones but splitting the zones into 2 group run times will fix that issue plus the fact that we will be using A/C and the Geo water will recharge the tanks with in 10hrs or so.

I roughed in my Koi pond over the last week and transfered all of my 8 Koi’s from the old home to the new. New pond is 10′x9′ and 46″ deep.

Solar System

January 19, 2009

The solar pv project started today on the south side of the lot.  Since our landscaper is installing the sprinklers Im having him trench my feed pipe from what looks like 2 separate 15 panel arrays back to the back side of the garage wall.

I’m guessing the work will take me about 3 weeks in my spare time but might be quicker as this is my 1st installation and time permits.
